South Africa’s COVID-19 cases top 754,000

ISTANBUL 

South Africa recorded 1,987 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s tally to 754,256, the Health Ministry said Wednesday.

According to the ministry, 119 more people died of the virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of fatalities to 20,433.

The country has so far conducted 5,160,877 tests and nearly 697,000 patients have recovered from the virus.

Continental Africa has so far reported around 2 million COVID-19 cases.
