Nigeria announced on Wednesday that it will soon lift a Twitter ban that has been in place since June 4.

Information Minister Lai Mohammed told reporters after a Cabinet meeting that the government and Twitter officials brought relations to a friendly stage.

Nigeria blocked Twitter after the microblogging website deleted a tweet from President Muhammadu Buhari in which addressed secessionists in comments perceived as threatening.
