Nigeria: Boko Haram executes 5 aid workers
Aid workers were kidnapped late June
Boko Haram said Wednesday they have killed five aid workers in Nigeria's volatile Borno State.
In a video released by the group, the men who were kidnapped in June knelt down with assault rifles pointed at them at an unknown location.
The gunmen subsequently shot them execution-style.
The United Nations Office for Humanitarian Coordination in Nigeria and government are yet to issue a statement.
The incident was the second in a year coming after the murder of four other aid workers in December 2019. The latest incident came as Boko Haram's bloody insurgency in the African nation enters its eleventh year.Anadolu Agency website contains only a portion of the news stories offered to subscribers in the AA News Broadcasting System (HAS), and in summarized form.
