Mozambique’s president, wife test COVID-19 positive
Placed in quarantine, both are doing well, says presidency

ISTANBUL
The president of Mozambique and his wife tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the president's office.
Filipe Nyusi and first lady Isaura Nyusi are currently isolating, and both are doing well, said a written statement by the presidency on Monday.
Mozambique has reported more than 193,000 coronavirus cases so far, while the death toll stands at 2,031, according to the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
Since December 2019, the pandemic has claimed nearly 5.45 million lives in at least 192 countries and regions, with more than 292.56 million cases reported worldwide, shows the John Hopkins’ running tally.
