Libya’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Taher Siala announced Friday he will hold talks with Greek and Maltese authorities to discuss the delimitation of maritime borders in line with Libya's interests.

Siala met with the head of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah to discuss the maritime borders with Greece and Malta, according to a statement by NOC.

Two sides discussed ways for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in a way that will serve both the Libyan and other states’ interests in accordance with the international law, the statement said.

Sanallah, for his part, said he will ask oil companies operating in the region to suspend their exploration activities in contentious areas.
