Eritrea reports its first COVID-19 death
Number of recoveries nears 600, while there are over 830 confirmed cases, says Information Ministry

ISTANBUL
The East African nation of Eritrea has recorded its first death from the novel coronavirus, its Information Ministry said Tuesday.
“A 50-year-old male patient who was receiving medical treatment for COVID-19 at a hospital in Decamere has passed away,” the ministry said in a statement.
The number of recovered patients in the country stands at 599, while there are a total of 832 confirmed cases, it added.
