NAIROBI, Kenya
At least 36 people, including three died in a road accident when a bus heading towards capital Nairobi from Nakuru town collided with a truck early Sunday, according to police.
Out of the total people killed, 30 died on the spot; six others succumbed to their injuries at a hospital.
“As things stand now, 18 people are admitted the Molo Sub-County Hospital and the Nakuru hospital; all [are] suffering from injuries with some being .
“The death toll still stands at 36; it has been a terrible December for motorists and we urge people to exercise caution,” a senior police officer from Nakuru town told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.
At least 150 lives have been lost in road accidents, mostly involving 60-seater buses and trucks in December, according to National Transport and Safety Authority figures.
