Tibi is a member of the Arab Joint List, a coalition of four Arab parties that came in at third place – with 13 assembly seats – in the last Knesset elections.

Israeli Arab lawmaker Ahmed Tibi on Sunday said that a delegation, comprising a number of Arab MPs, began a visit to Jordan and Turkey in order to clarify the risks that threaten occupied East Jerusalem’s flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“We arrived this morning to Jordan to meet with King Abdullah II and then we will go to Turkey to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” lawmaker Ahmed Tibi told Anadolu Agency.
Al-Tibi warned that the Israeli government’s actions will push the region into a cycle of violence.
He added that they will brief the two leaders on the Israeli police attacks against Muslim worshipers, the closure of Al-Aqsa gates to facilitate the incursions of settlers, the desecration of Al-Qibali Mosque and the violations of Netanyahu’s government against East Jerusalem and its people.
Al-Tibi added that Jordan and Turkey are important countries in the region that can play an important role to rein in the Israeli violations against Al-Aqsa.
The delegation includes Tibi, Jamal Zahalka, Aida Toma Suleiman, Taleb Abu Arar, and Osama Saadi.
Tensions have been running high at Al-Aqsa since last Sunday, after Israeli police attacked Muslim worshipers with rubber bullets, stun grenades and tear gas.
