ISTANBUL 

Three people who had been sent for arrest in relation to a suicide bomb attack in Istanbul’s Sultanahmet district last week have been released Tuesday. 

Accused of "aiding and abetting a terrorist group," the three suspects, including two from the Russian region of Dagestan, had been sent to the court for arrest earlier in the day.

Following further questioning by the court, they were eventually released but are forbidden to leave the country.

According to judicial sources, six suspects have been questioned by a prosecutor.

Last week, a woman blew herself up in the Istanbul’s Sultanahmet district, killing a police officer. Another policeman was injured.

Turkish Interior Minister Efkan Ala later said the suicide bomber had been identified but refrained from naming the perpetrator.
