ANKARA
The Turkish Parliamentary General Assembly approved on Thursday a Prime Ministry motion which authorizes the government for a year to send Turkish troops abroad regarding Syria issue.
Parliamentary General Assembly discussed the motion in a closed session that lasted for nearly three and a half hours.
The motion said that the crisis in Syria negatively affected regional stability and security as well as Turkey's national security.
Aggressive acts by Syrian army since September 20, 2012 towards Turkish territories continued despite warnings and diplomatic initiatives by Turkey, it said.
This situation created a serious threat and risks against Turkey's national security, that's why the government was authorized to send Turkish troops abroad regarding Syria issue for one year, it added.
