Spain confirm midfielder Pedri's injury

Spain confirmed on Saturday midfielder Pedri Gonzalez's injury, a day after he was forced to leave the field during the quarter-final match against Germany in Stuttgart.

"Following tests carried out on the Spain player Pedri González, the Canary Islands midfielder has suffered a grade 2 internal lateral sprain in his left knee," the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said.

"The player will remain with his teammates until the end of the current Euro 2024 campaign."

The 21-year-old got injured just 3 minutes and 30 seconds into the match won by Spain.

The 2022-23 Spanish LaLiga winner with Barcelona has scored two goals in 24 appearances for his nation.
