The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 10,501.15 points, rising 0.21% or 21.99 points over the previous close.

At Wednesday's close, the BIST 100 index dropped 0.86% to 10.479,16 points, with a daily transaction volume of 87 billion liras ($2.71 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.2800 as of 09.52 a.m. (0652GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 34.9160, while the GBP/TRY rate was 40.9424

The price of one ounce of gold was $2,352.95, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $83.11.
