European stock exchanges closed mixed on Monday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, rose just 0.06 point to end the session flat at 468.91.

The UK's FTSE 100 increased 14 points, or 0.18%, to finish almost at 7,771. Spain's IBEX 35, meanwhile, added 53 points, or 0.58%, to close the day at 9,305.

France's CAC 40, on the other hand, fell 13 points, or 0.18%, to finish the session at 7,478.

Germany's DAX 30 declined 51 points, or 0.32%, to 16,223.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the worst performer of the day, trimming 209 points, or 0.76%, to close at 27,310.
