Athletic Bilbao's LaLiga game against Granada abandoned after fan dies
Game was suspended in 17th minute of play after Granada fan died of cardiac arrest

Athletic Bilbao's Spanish LaLiga week 16 football game against Granada was abandoned after a fan died in the stands on Sunday.
The game was suspended in the 17th minute of play due to the death of a Granada fan at Los Carmenes, with mutual agreement between both clubs, LaLiga and the match referee, according to a Bilbao statement.
A Granada fan suffered a cardiac arrest in the stands and unfortunately, the medical services were unable to resuscitate him, the Spanish side wrote.
“We're deeply saddened by the passing of a fan at today's match and we send our sincerest condolences to the entire Granada family," said Bilbao president Jon Uriarte. "It was a pity that the match was called off, but there is nothing more important than a person's life. We are working with LaLiga and the refereeing bodies to find a date for the match to resume."
Athletic was leading the game with Inaki Williams' goal in the 6th minute.
