U.K. Climate Investments (UKCI), a joint venture between the Green Investment Group and the government, announced a £30 million ($38.8 million) investment deal on Tuesday in CleanMax Solar, one of India’s leading providers of renewable energy for commercial and industrial clients.
The investment will support the development of a nationwide network of solar farms in India.
CleanMax Solar aims to enhance their portfolio from 500 megawatts (MW) to 2,000 MW over the next three years.
'Our partnership represents an exciting opportunity to help take CleanMax Solar's platform to the next level, underpinning investment in new renewable generation capacity whilst accelerating India’s transition to a low-carbon future,' said Richard Abel, managing director of UKCI.
