Energy Market Regulatory Authority, EMRA, of Turkey imposed fines totaling to $1 million to six fuel companies for breaching market regulations, according to a statement in the official gazette on Sunday.
$1 million (2.8 million Turkish Liras) was imposed to six fuel companies from different cities of Turkey. The fines varied from buying oil from illegal suppliers, possessing products with invalid marker levels, interfering automatic control systems of the fuel dispensing pumps.
Additionally, the regulatory authority requested written defense statements from six more companies for replenishing supplies outside their respective distributors and for some various reasons.
