Turkey's diesel and aviation fuel imports increased but crude oil imports decreased in February 2018, according to the country's energy watchdog's report on Friday.
Crude oil imports decreased by 23.9 percent to 1.3 million tonnes in February compared to the same month last year, Energy Marketing Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said.
Diesel imports rose by 41.9 percent to 1 million tonnes and aviation fuels soared by 531 percent to 40 thousand tonnes in February.
As a result, Turkey's total oil product imports increased by 2.5 percent to 2.7 million tonnes in February this year compared to February 2017.
Production of oil refinery products lowered by 25.8 percent to 1.5 million tonnes. In addition, diesel production dropped by 36.6 percent to 463 thousand tonnes.
In February, total fuel sales rose by 10.3 percent to 2 million tonnes compared to the same month last year.
