The U.S. stock market opened mixed on Monday.
The Dow fell 28 points to start trading at 21,385 points, and the S&P 500 lost less than a point to open flat at 2,424 points.
The Nasdaq, on the other hand, rose eight points to begin the first trading day of the week at 6,161 points.
At the first bell, e-commerce giant Amazon saw its stock price climb 1 percent.
Brick-and-mortar retail companies Costco and Walmart, however, saw their shares fall 1.1 percent and 0.6 percent, respectively.
