Norway's total sales of petroleum products retreated to 610 million liters in April 2019, a 7.9% drop compared to the same period last year, according to Statistics Norway on Monday.
For gasoline sales, however, the statistics bureau said the volume reached 88 million liters - a year-on-year increase of 2 million liters.
Sales of diesel amounted to 229 million liters, a decrease of 13 million liters compared to April last year.
Data from the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, the Norwegian Petroleum Institute and oil companies provide data from which the statistics authority has produced monthly figures since 1973.
