Japanese giant Mitsubishi has become Turkish Calik energy company's partner after acquiring some of the company’s shares, Calik Holding's CEO announced Thursday.
Turkish Calik Energy and Japanese giant Mitsubishi plan to partner for infrastructure and energy projects in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia including other developing regions, Ahmet Calik said.
"This partnership will contribute to regional and global prosperity," he said, and added that it will help to improve the competitive market in the Middle East and the North African region.
Calik Energy aims to help more people gain access to electricity through improving transmission and distribution systems, constructing more electric power plants and expanding through the creation of business models to develop renewable energy fields.
The Mitsubishi and Calik companies have been collaborating on various projects since 1990, according to the press release.
