Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 6.6% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 801,736 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 37,209 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,774 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 807,713 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 7.8% increase from Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 18.7% of total electricity consumption, wind plants comprised 14.4%, while hydroelectricity plants held a 13.8% share.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,320 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,273 megawatt-hours.
