Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 12% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 757,589 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,599 megawatt-hours at 19.00 local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 26,795 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 772,540 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 3.15% increase compared to Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 23.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 23.1% while lignite plants comprised 16.6%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,560 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 15,032 megawatt-hours.
