Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased on Thursday by 0.27% compared to the previous day to reach 925,651 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 43,248 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,802 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 928,782 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.25% decrease compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 27.48% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Thursday, hydro power plants held a 22.85% share while imported coal plants comprised 22.45%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,342 megawatt-hours while imports reached 3,211 megawatt-hours.
