Turkey's natural gas imports decreased by 13% in October compared to the same month of 2018, according to Turkish energy watchdog's data.
Imports decreased to 3.16 billion cubic meters (bcm) in October from 3.63 bcm in October 2018, Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said in its monthly natural gas market report.
The country imported 2.38 bcm of natural gas via pipeline, while 0.77 bcm was purchased as LNG in October, EMRA's data shows.
Turkey's total gas consumption decreased by 16.8% to approx. 2.88 bcm this October from around 3.46 bcm in October 2018.
The amount of natural gas in storage increased by nearly 3.16% to 3.47 bcm in October this year from 3.36 bcm in October last year.
Gas production increased to 39.7 million cubic meters (mcm) over the same period, up from 36.7 mcm in October 2018.
