TURKEY'S PARLIAMENT SPEAKER ON DEMOCRATIC MOVE
KARABUK - Turkey's parliament speaker said on Saturday that everybody
should act sensitively towards the foundation philosophy of the
republic while solving an issue.
Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin replied to questions on the government's democratic move in the northwestern province of Karabuk on Saturday.
"I believe all the political parties in Turkey agree that the Kurdish move issue, which is widely discussed nowadays, should be solved as soon as possible. Some opposition parties may have certain concerns. I think their concerns should be understood," Sahin said.
Sahin noted that Turkish people, regardless of their political views, could come together and solve the basic problems of Turkey.
"As the parliament speaker, I am ready to do my best if anything is requested from me on this matter," he said.
Sahin also said that he might hold talks with political leaders regarding the democratic move issue "if the available atmosphere was provided".
