Latest technology control at the Turkey-Bulgaria border

The latest technology "Control System with Camera and Radar" which was set up at the Svilengrad town near Turkey-Bulgaria border had been introduced to AA.

"Integrated Controlling System" worth 20 million Euro provides tight security, and tracks any kind of movement in the 32-kilometer area at Turkey-Bulgaria border.
Testing process of the system still continues and for the first time it was introduced to AA. Svilengrad Border Chief Police Georgi Kalayciev told AA, "now, the illegal border crossings are disabled hundred percent with this tracking system."
Kalayciev said, "the system was set up within the scope of fitting into Bulgaria's Schengen criteria. The most of the illegal border crossings happen at the specified 32-kilometer area which is close to Turkey-Bulgaria border and it also provides tight security to the 5-kilometer area of Maritza River zone again near the Turkey-Bulgaria border."
The sensitivity of the system increases when the temperatures drop and also at night time it gives perfect results. Controlling system tracks any moving object, human, groups of human up to 15 kilometers from the Turkish border.
Expert teams of four at the Security Department of Svilengrad border assess all the signals they receive from the controlling system and they inform the patrolling officers in the area so they can keep the track of people or groups who try to get in illegally.
Kalayciev pointed that the similar border controlling system was only used by Slovenia and said, "system shows full performance even thought its still being tested. One of the critical zones of illegal border crossings happens at the Turkey-Bulgaria green line and now we can block the area."
Chief police officer Kalayciev said that in order to prevent from illegal border crossings, they work in cooperation with Turkish officials.
