The Daesh militant group on Tuesday claimed responsibility for a recent string of suicide bombings, one of which targeted the Aden headquarters of the Yemeni government and a Saudi-led military coalition.

Fifteen Saudi-led and Yemeni troops were reportedly killed in the attacks, which struck several government targets in the southern city of Aden, according to the United Arab Emirates’ official news agency.

Also, earlier Tuesday, at least 12 people were killed in a rocket attack on an Aden hotel that had reportedly been hosting several top Yemeni officials.

According to a senior government source, no government officials were hurt in the attack.

“The hotel was struck by two rockets fired from the nearby Taiz province, which remains partially under the control of the Shia Houthi militia,” a local security source told Anadolu Agency.

On Sept. 22, Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi chaired a cabinet meeting in Aden, the country’s temporary capital, after returning to Yemen from Saudi Arabia.

Hadi had spent six months in Riyadh after fleeing war-torn Yemen following the capture of both capital Sanaa and Aden by the Houthis.
