Erdogan delivered a speech at a panel titled "how democratic global governance contributes to international peace and security?" within the scope of the 5th Bali Democracy Forum.
"Capital punishment was lifted in Europe but was it lifted in the United States, Japan and China? So death penalty can be legitimate in some cases," he said.

Answering another question, Erdogan said that none of the decisions that have been made by the UN Security Council and the UN regarding Israel were implemented by this country, but Israel did not face any sanctions.
In regard to combating terrorism, Erdogan said that there was need for an international platform in fight against terrorism.
Premier Erdogan said that the UN remained silent to what has happened in Syria. There was need for a common stance against the country, he said.
