An Egyptian court on Wednesday instructed the government to take the necessary steps for blocking pornographic websites in Egypt.

It was the second time for an Egyptian court to order the government to block pornographic content online.

The government, citing "difficulties," failed to enforce the previous order.

A judicial source said Wednesday that Egypt's Administrative Court – which arbitrates disputes between citizens and the government – had ordered the government to block the websites.

He added that lawyer Nizar Ghurab had filed the lawsuit calling for the blocking of pornographic websites, which, the lawsuit asserts, violate Islamic precepts and corrupt family values.

The Administrative Court ordered the government to block pornographic sites for the first time in 2009.
