ANKARA
The deputy speaker of the Palestinian parliament visited the headquarters of The Anadolu Agency in Ankara Wednesday.
Ahmed Bahar visited with a delegation of Palestinian members of parliament.
The Anadolu Agency is a well-established global news agency offering newswires in eight languages, with operations in most major regions around the globe, including the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Asia-Pacific.
AA's International News Chief Editor Hasan Oymez welcomed the Palestinian delegation and gave a presentation on the agency's centennial vision.
Oymez outlined plans to enlarge the agency’s network across the world as part of its 2020 centennial plan.
He informed the delegation about the agency’s target to become one of the top five most influential news agencies in the world by 2020.
Bahar praised the agency and its support for the Palestinian cause.
"We know your support on Palestinian issue," he said.
The agency’s book series “AA Was There” was also presented to Bahar.
The three-volume series in Turkish, English and Arabic covers stories of war and revolution from Egypt, Gaza and Syria.
The books – "Blockade, War and Resistance: Gaza"; "The Unfinished Revolution: Egypt"; and "The Orphaned Nation: Syria" – includes first-hand witness accounts by AA's field correspondents.
