A spokesman for Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Wednesday denied reports of the president's deteriorating health condition, saying there was no reason for worry in this regard.

"The president's health is okay and there's no reason for worry," presidential spokesman Abdirahman Osman said via Facebook.

"We can't comment on reports that have nothing to do with reality," Osman added.

In recent days, local media reports have suggested that the president's health condition was deteriorating. The reports emerged following the departure of the president to Turkey for medical examination.
