88 people from opposition groups were killed with heavy weaponry on Thursday in attacks conducted by regime forces across Syria, activists said

Syrian regime kills 88 people, activists say

DAMASCUS

Assad forces attacked locations where opposition forces were deployed with howitzers, rockets, warplanes, killing a total of 88 people.

4 people each were killed in the suburbs of Damascus, Hama, Homs and Tartous, 15 others in Aleppo, 24 in Daraa, 9 in Idlib, 16 in Deir al-Zor and 6 in Quneitra and 2 in Hasakah, according to the press release by the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR).

The statement expressed that fierce fighting occured between opposition and regime forces around a military airport in the nortwestern city of Aleppo, and clashes were also reported between the forces of the PYD and Free Syrian Army in the Kamisli district of Hasaka. 

Syrian official news agency (SANA), on the other hand, announced that security forces had rendered many armed groups ineffective with operations in various cities, and had seized weapons while destroying their vehicles.
