An explosion ripped through a police station in Istanbul on Tuesday, killing a police officer and wounding at least 4 others, Istanbul's police chief said.
Huseyin Capkin said a suicide bomber tossed a hand grenade and then blew himself up inside the police station in the Sultangazi district.
He said the suicide bomber was a 25-year-old male, without giving any further detail about his identity or affiliation with any terrorist group.
The terrorist PKK organization has recently stepped up its attacks in the country.
