Iran begins implementing temporary visa procedures

AGRI (AA) - August 5, 2012 - Trucks waiting at the Gurbulak Border Gate in Dogubayazit town of the eastern province of Agri to enter Iran have formed a line that is 15 kilometers long after Iran began implementing temporary visa procedures as part of measures taken within the frame of the Non-aligned Movement Summit of Leaders to take place within the country later this month.

Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), Deputy Governor of Agri, Ercan Ates said that the temporary visa requirement between Turkey and Iran began on Sunday and will end on August 31.
"Truck drivers who were not aware of the temporary procedures are waiting at Gurbulak. We are holding talks with Iranian officials to help the truck drivers," Ates stressed.
