Anadolu Agency photographer wounded in Syria

ALEPPO, Syria

 An Anadolu Agency photographer was wounded on Monday evening as he covered fighting between rebels and Syrian government forces near Aleppo.

Salih Leyla and freelance journalist Abdulkerim Leyla were wounded in a missile attack by regime forces on fighters dug in around Jamiat al-Zahra, to the north of Syria’s largest city.

The photographer sustained injuries to his face and left arm. Both men were treated in a field hospital and reported to be in good condition. They are due to be evacuated to Turkey for further treatment.

Several rebel groups recently launched an offensive to gain control the government-controlled districts of Aleppo and are closest to the regime’s lines in Jamiat al-Zahra.
