CHERKESSK
The Anadolu Agency will strengthen its network in the North Caucasus and help the region gain greater global recognition, Director General Kemal Ozturk said during a visit to the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic.
"Our aim is to extend our news feed and network in North Caucasus, making its voice heard more around the world, and to increase its recognition," Ozturk told a gathering of media representatives in the autonomous republic.
In a meeting with the republic’s Deputy Prime Minister Janibek Suyunov and Minister of Information Evgeniy Kratov, Ozturk said Anadolu Agency plans to sign a cooperation agreement with the Karachay-Cherkess Republic news media group that would include a TV channel, news agency and several radio stations.
Suyunov said Anadolu Agency's role in the North Caucasus would benefit the region’s communications and economy.
