Turkish dailies on Monday cover Prime Minister Erdogan's call on US-based cleric Fethullah Gulen to return to Turkey, his appeal to citizens to remove their children from Hizmet-run schools, and Russia's military intervention in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Dailies such as Sabah, Aksam and Star quote Erdogan as saying during one of his AK Party’s rallies that Gulen, who is in a self-imposed exile, should return to his country of origin if he is innocent and go into politics against him.

Erdogan accuses Gulen’s followers of forming a “parallel state” nestled in police and judiciary and running an agenda to target the government over an anti-graft operation that began on December 17.

Dailies quote Erdogan as saying that Gulen diverged from the teachings of Said Nursi, late Sunni Muslim theologian who greatly inspired the Hizmet movement.

Daily Yeni Safak features Turkish Interior Minister Efkan Ala’s interview on its front page. Ala says in the interview: “The ones who are backing the ‘parallel state’ will not even be able to walk in the street when the truth comes up”.

A number of dailies, including Haberturk, Milliyet, and Hurriyet, cover Russia's intervention in Crimea.

Hurriyet highlights US President Obama’s phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin about the situation in Ukraine, as Obama expressed his deep concern over Russia’s clear violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which constitutes a breach of international law.

Milliyet covers NATO and US’s warning to Russia to withdraw from Crimea, while Haberturk reports Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s call-up of reservists in a state of full military mobilization.

Many Turkish dailies such as Haberturk, Aksam, Star, Sabah, Yeni Safak, Hurriyet and Milliyet also cover the last game of the matchday 23 in Spor Toto Super League played between Galatasaray and Caykur Rizespor which ended in a 1-1 draw.
