ANKARA

Turkey's primary competition in football, Spor Toto Super League ended its sixth week on Monday night.

The match of the week was the derby between two fierce Istanbulite archrivals, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, which took place in Galatasaray's home, Turk Telekom Arena on Saturday. Galatasaray toppled Fenerbahce 2-1 with two late long range goals scored by Dutch trequartista Wesley Sneijder. Away team Fenerbahce's consolation goal was scored by Alper Potuk in the last minute of the injury time.

League leader Besiktas just managed to win against Sivasspor 3-2 in Ankara on Sunday. "Black Eagles" Senegalese striker Demba Ba's brace was the key factor for the win as well as Turkish midfielder Olcay Sahan's late winner.  Sivasspor's two goals were scored by Manuel Da Costa and Hakan Arslan.
