Women's basketball: Favorites USA dominate China
USA's women basketball team beat China 87-56 in Group D, while Czech Republic beat Brazil 68-55 in Group A clash in the world championship

Team USA started the FIBA World Championship for Women strong as expected, beating China 87 - 56 in Group D match in Istanbul on Saturday.
The outcome of the game was not in doubt from start to finish, as USA shot 44 percent from the field, dominating China shot a dismal 28 percent.
Forward Maya Moore and Brittney Griner scored 15 each for Team USA, while center Tina Charles pulled down a whopping 15 rebounds.
For China, guard Xiaojia Chen and center Mengran Sun had 10 points each.
- Group A: Czech Republic - Brazil: 68 - 55
Czech Republic defeated Brazil 68 - 55 after a dominant display.
The Group A game in Ankara showed insufficient fight from Brazil, while power forwards Alena Hanusova and Jana Vesela were in good form for the Czech side.
Hanusova finished with 15 points and Vesela added 11 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Katerina Bartonova chipped in with 7 points and 8 assists.
Brazil shot only 26 percent from the field against Czech Republic's solid 49 percent. Power forward Clarissa Santos' 10 point-10 rebound performance was not enough for the South American side.
