2014-15 UEFA Champions League to start on Tuesday

ISTANBUL

The first group matches will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the 2014-15 UEFA Champions League.

Turkish club Galatasaray will host Belgian team Anderlecht at Turk Telekom Arena. The game in Istanbul will kick off at 20.45 CET (21.45 local time in Turkey / 1945 GMT).

Thirty-two teams will be competing in eight groups and the group leaders and runners-up will qualify for the last 16 in the champions league.  The teams completing the group stage in third place will proceed to take place in the UEFA Europa League. 

After the group stage, the games will be played until the final in a 'home and away knock-out' format and the final will be held on June 6 at Olympiastadion in Berlin.
