Football: Galatasaray face Atletico in Champions League

ISTANBUL

Turkey’s Galatasaray face Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital Wednesday night as they battle to qualify for the knockout stage of European football’s Champions League.

Galatasaray will be without striker Burak Yilmaz and midfield playmaker Selcuk Inan due to suspensions.

Atletico frontman Jackson Martinez is also set to miss the game with an ankle injury.

The Group C match is to kick-off at 8.45 p.m. CET (1945GMT) at the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

Benfica currently lead the group with nine points, followed by Atletico in second spot with seven points. Third-placed Galatasaray need to come in the top two to reach the next round. They face Kazakhstan’s Astana in Istanbul in the final group game next month.
