AKSARAY (AA) - July 20, 2012 - Germany's ambassador in Turkish capital of Ankara has said that Germany wished that Syrian people would live in peace in accordance with their own rights.

Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), Ambassador Eberhard Pohl said that the embassy was working to boost ties between Turkey and Germany, stating that they were searching for Turkish partners for German companies and vice versa.
Replying to a question on Syria, Pohl said that Germany wished that Syrian people would live in peace in line with their own rights, and his country hoped this would be secured with some sanctions. "We hope that problems in Syria will end as soon as possible," he said.
Meetings regarding Syria have been held in the UN Security Council in New York and a decision was expected to come out, he said. This platform should ensure Bashar al-Assad to go and the regime to change, he added.
