Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), Ambassador Esenli said that Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping's recent visit to Turkey was important as he is expected to become the Chinese President in March.
Mutual visits by Prime Minister Erdogan and Xi Jinping were solid examples of the level bilateral relations reached, Esenli indicated.
Touching on Turkey's recent entrance into the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as a "dialogue partner", Ambassador Esenli noted that such partnership would contribute to relations between Turkey and member states.
Turkey's NATO membership was not an obstacle in becoming a "dialogue partner" in the SCO. Turkey became a "dialogue partner" based on its independent foreign policy, Esenli also said.
