Dutch experts will relaunch an investigation into the Malaysia Airlines MH17 plane which went down last year in eastern Ukraine killing 298 people.

The Dutch public prosecutor’s office announced Tuesday that a group of experts from the National Police and Ministry of Defense will again probe the cause of the incident.

The investigation, supported by Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, aims to reach corroborating evidence into the crash’s cause.

In September 2014, the Dutch Research Council for Safety released an initial report which said that the crash was due to a “large number of high-energy objects that penetrated the aircraft from outside,” denying the pilot had made a mistake.

The Boeing 777 was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it went down in eastern Ukraine on July 17, killing all passengers and crew on board, two thirds of them Dutch nationals.

Nationals of the Netherlands, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Philippines, Canada and New Zealand were among those who died.

Days after the Malaysia Airline tragedy last year, Ukraine and the U.S. accused pro-Russian separatists of shooting down the plane, a claim Moscow rejected.
