The U.S. coalition forces conducted 20 airstrikes against ISIL targets in the past three days, according to a Combined Joint Task Force statement on Wednesday.
In Syria, “Seven airstrikes near Kobani destroyed five ISIL fighting positions and struck three other ISIL fighting positions and a large ISIL unit, "the statement said.
There were 13 other airstrikes in Iraq near Sinjar, al-Qaim, Ramadi, Mosul, Samarra, and Kirkuk.
The U.S. is leading an international coalition, which includes France, Germany, and Saudi Arabia, and has carried out numerous airstrikes against ISIL in Iraq and Syria.
The U.S. and partner nations have carried out more than 1,200 air strikes against ISIL in Iraq and Syria since operations began in August, according to the force.
