The Free Syrian Army will not accept the UN plan for halting the ongoing fight in Syria unless their four conditions are met, the group's General Brigadier Zahir al-Sakit said Tuesday.

Al-Sakit announced on his Facebook account that they could accept the plan of UN Special Envoy on Syria, Steffan de Mistura, to halt the ongoing violence in Aleppo and other Syrian provinces only if war criminals, who used chemical gas against civilians were handed over; sectarian militias fighting alongside the Assad regime leave the country; end to airstrikes, and prisoners, especially female prisoners, in the Assad regime jails were released.

De Mistura had presented his action plan to halting the violence in Syria at the UN Security Council late October.

"We are talking about something different which should not be imposed by either of the two sides. It should be something that freezes the conflict in that area and give them opportunity for some type of humanitarian improvement," the special envoy had said.

According to the UN, the conflict in Syria, which began in March 2011, has claimed more than 150,000 lives, and nearly 11 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance inside the country.

The Free Syrian Army is one of the factions fighting against the Assad regime.
