15 killed in Baghdad's Saturday bombings

BAGHDAD

Death toll from a string of bombings that hit the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Saturday has hit 15, an Iraqi security source said.

"The forensic medicine in Baghdad received the bodies of 15 civilians, including children, who were all killed in five car bombings on Saturday," the source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Anadolu Agency.

"As many as 51 injured people were also transferred to Baghdad hospitals, including seven in a serious condition," he added.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Iraq has seen an uptick in violence in recent months. Although most attacks go unclaimed, Iraqi authorities usually point the finger at Al-Qaeda-linked militants.
