Free Syrian Army (FSA) confirmed Saturday that militants linked to Al Qaeda in Syria killed Kamal Hamami, a senior figure in FSA.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency on the phone, a spokesman for FSA Qassem Saadeddine said the supreme military commander Hamami was killed by the organisation of 'Islamic State of Iraq and Damascus'.
Meanwhile, FSA Military Council spokesman Musab Abu Qatada said in a telephone interview that Berzah of Syria was under heavy bombardment.
"The attack left 9 people dead and tens of others injured as well as leaving around 40 thousand civilians stuck in the region," he said.
The entrance to the region was controlled by regime forces as Qatada said.
He asked for the evacuation of civilians who lacked medical assistance in addition to electricity, water, and food.
