Air and land operations allegedly carried out by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces across Syria killed 89 people, according to the London-based Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR).

The organization claimed regime forces raided opposition-controlled areas, killing 26 people in Aleppo, 33 in the suburbs of Damascus, 13 in Idlib, five each in Homs, Hama and Deraa and one each in Rakka and Deyru'z Zor.

The Local Coordination Committees of Syria (LCC) – a network of local opposition groups – said that government helicopters bombed the opposition-controlled areas of Shuqeri, Kafr Hamra and Anadan district, adding that many residential places were damaged.

Syria's official news agency SANA claimed that Hilal al-Assad, the National Defence Commander, died during clashes between the armed opponents and regime forces in the border town of Kasab in Latakia province.
