GENEVA
Syrian peace talks, Geneva II, may not be held in Geneva due to hotel shortage, UN-Arab League envoy Lakhdar Brahimi said in an interview broadcast.
The Geneva II conference is due to begin on the same day as the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos and the conference will also clash with a watch fair in Geneva, Brahimi highlighted in an interview with public broadcaster RTS on Tuesday.
The hotels in the city have been almost fully booked which caused the Geneva II organisers to look for alternative places.
Montreux, at the other end of Lake Geneva, is one of the options chosen as a possibility to hold the talks.
Brahimi told RTS that "If we go to Montreux, it would be for just 24 hours, while waiting for the watch show and Davos to end."
